My Anniversary Gift – No Damn Amnesty
While Lauren and I don’t exchange gifts, Congress the Senate to be exact did give me a fine gift today. The amnesty bill once again came up for a cloture vote and once again when down in flames. This should effectively shelve the amnesty bill until the next president is in office, whom I hope will not be for such a treasonous piece of legislation as our disgraced “I’ll see you at the bill signing” President. How he could want that as his legacy is beyond me unless he wants to go down in the Mexican history books as the greatest American president.
Now that GW is officially a lame duck and has no power to affect new policy he can focus 100% on the only thing he does have power over. He can retriple our efforts in Iraq and finish the job, destroy the enemy. Not disarm, scatter or imprison. Iran needs to be part of that destruction though limited to strategic and economic. Breaking the back of the terrorists in Iraq and crippling the Iranian nuclear program are Bush’s only hope of a legacy. The American public is too dense and influenced by the media to ever appreciate Bush’s economic accomplishments.
