This is the third year of the Taste of the Fair with fireworks show. This time I was prepared to photograph it. 8:15pm we walked over to Vanguard University’s soccer field and I set up my still and video camera and we settled in on a beach towel for the show. 8:45 and no fireworks, well anytime now, I think to myself. Ten minutes later still nothing. Well I guess 9pm will be the trick. 9:03 nothing. Starting to get paranoid, did they cancel because of the London bombing this morning? Okay must be 9:15, 9:17 nothing. Now starting to feel stupid, when do we give up and go home? Damn it I know it was tonight and that flyer said fireworks, didn’t it???? Oh if I’d only saved that thing. About 9:28 and I spy the fairgrounds parking lot light turn off. This damn thing is always on and I can just barely read by it at 3am in my bedroom so I know something is up. This is it – has to be and boom, snap, kaboom it starts. Great show, great view, goes about 15 minutes.

I just set my still camera and forgot about it hence why they are all over exposed. I was too focused on my new video camera to double check the exposure after the show started. All the show photos.
When we get home I look up the info on the net and it says 7:30 to 8:45 so I was 15 minutes early but they were 45 minutes late. I wonder what happened.
